Planning officers say the current bungalows “appear to have been left for several years with the site becoming overgrown and unoccupied. To the south, east and west is agricultural land.

“The bungalows are of a simple design and set both back and down due to the level difference from the public highway.”

Ely Planning says the properties were formerly a pair of semi-detached 3- bedroom bungalows.

“A structural report has been conducted justifying their demolishment as they are unviable to repair,” it says.

The new homes will, on the ground floor, have a “central circulation space in which you can access all areas of the property.

“To the front is a guest bedroom with ensuite and a home office space.

“To the rear of the office is the living room which has large bi-folding doors looking out on the surrounding landscape”.

Ely Planning says the kitchen and dining rooms also have a large set of bi-folding doors that open out in the garden “and will provide stunning views over the surrounding landscape.

“The first floor will contain 3 double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

“The master bedroom with have its own ensuite and have an inset balcony which will provide elevated views onto the surrounding fields.

“This balcony is inset and covered which will provide shelter from the wind and rain but also restrict the views to just to the rear of the property and not either side”.
