Child rapist from Chatteris jailed for 12 years

Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight described the offences as extremely serious matters.

Child rapist Andrew Bonner from Chatteris has been jailed for 12 years. Bonner had previously admitted 15 sexual offences committed in the Lincoln area when he appeared at crown court on Monday.

He had been warned, when he pleaded guilty to all 15 offences before a judge at Lincoln Crown Court, that the jail term would be “many years”.

Returning to Lincoln Crown Court on Monday and before the same judge he discovered his fate.

Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight described the offences as extremely serious matters.

Jailing him for 15 years, she also made Bonner the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

His admissions of guilt included raping a child aged under 13 and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Bonner, who committed all the offences in the Lincoln area, had been remanded in custody awaiting sentence.
