Knife wielding robber targets Cambridgeshire betting shop

An armed robber brandishing a knife threatened staff and customers before fleeing a Cambridgeshire betting shop yesterday.

Police released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the armed robbery in Ramsey and today say he has been identified.

The images revealed a man holding a knife entered S&D Bookmakers in Little Whyte at about 1.20pm today (29 June) and threatened staff and customers.

He demanded money from the till safe and betting stations.

Staff and customers handed over money to him.

Detective Constable Zoe Baxter, who is investigating, said: “Thankfully no one has been hurt today but the staff and customers involved have been left incredibly shaken by this incident.

“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen this man in the moments leading up to and after the robbery.
