Routine Cambridgeshire stop by police ended with family's holiday plans threatened

Disruptive kids, passengers with no seat belts and a disqualified driver left family holiday plans in tatters.

The day quickly went from bad to worse for the Peterborough family when their car was stopped by police after children were seen jumping around on the back seat.

The Beds, Cambs & Herts Road Policing Unit spotted the disruptive children and signalled for the car to pull over.

“After stopping, five of the seven passengers were not wearing seatbelts,” the policing unit tweeted.

“Tickets for all adults and driver ticketed for the kids,” police tweeted.

But a routine check also unearthed a more serious crime after police discovered the driver was disqualified.

“The car was seized -so they are now unlikely to make their flight,” reported police.

The police won praise for their actions from other social media users.

“So, you want to take the kids on holiday, but you’re disqualified from driving?” was one response.

“Don’t fancy paying for a taxi so drive anyway, and draw attention to your vehicle by allowing the kids to go feral and belt less?
